There is more to talk about than just real estate right now. One of those things is how to support your local community.
Jason and Joe have a candid conversation about what they are doing during this challenging time.
They would like to offer their support to front line workers, the people who are sick, the people who are not working and our community members who are struggling.
Supporting the Local Community Video
In this video Jason and Joe use the Zoom Video Platform for the first time. They were able to create this video with each other from their homes. This was their first time using Zoom but they think you will enjoy it.
They discuss some of the issues that people are struggling with, some life hacks, how they are adapting, how they are supporting the local economy and just chopping it up.
If you would like them to promote your local business, or need any help shopping or running errands please call, text or email and let them know.
VIDEO TRANSCRIPT
hey everybody I’m Joe Kiser and I’m Jason Fox we are The Madrona Group with John L. Scott real estate.
awesome. well things look a little different today tell them why Jason.
well we’re using Zoom technology and we’re both broadcasting from different locations.
why are we reaching out to everybody today?
We just wanted to touch base and kind of talk about staying connected with the local community and how to navigate the current conditions with confidence.
well we often talk about how we’re here to help in real estate you know. there are alot of other needs in our community.
Jason and I are both pretty healthy so anybody you know is having a
hard time getting to grocery stores or needs some errands run
please reach out to us.
Yeah a couple of hacks, life hacks, if you will. You can goe to Costco at 8:00 in the morning and get a ticket so that you can get the disinfecting wipes. they do get them there you just have to be there like an hour early and then go through. if you’re out of disinfecting wipes try getting to Costco super early. also a lot of local distilleries have turned their production into hand sanitizer so if you’re looking for a small batch custom hand sanitizer you can check that out.
that is a good point we use that our office and replenish it
a couple times a week. there is not a shortage of disefectant
it is just knowing where to get it.
I don’t know about you Joe but I’m pretty much keeping the local takeout business afloat. I know a lot of people have been like oh we’re at home we’re cooking more. we’ve been taking out a lot more.
that’s funny I actually have a couple of restaurants I want to try to support but I’ve actually taken the time to try to eat healthy and take a little better care of myself.
I know one of the things that I’ve been doing I’ve noticed a lot more foot traffic out there is just going for walks and jogs and getting that fresh air and that sunshine and man that really helps get the stir crazy out.
yeah it’s funny you mentioned that during this unique time I’ve noticed some parks I haven’t normally noticed and I just found this one if you’re in shoreline, Hamlin Park. it is full of trails and you know it seems empty there’s so much space and it’s right in the heart of the shoreline. there’s lots of hiking there there’s
some steep terrain, some mellow paths, lots of open space.
it really is a beautiful place to spend some time.
yeah it’s a cool park. we like to go down here, we’re right by Hains Wharf Park and the Meadowdale Beach Park. I know the Meadowdale Beach Trail is officially closed but that does not stop the hikers I’m telling you. we take the back entrance down the roads and get that beautiful sunset view.
if your a local business that need support let us know we have a huge audience and will tell them to frequent your restaurant of whatever your business is if your a neighbor in need let us know we want to be a help.
you know another good way to pass time right now and also build some equity in your home is you can still hit up Home Depot and Lowe’s as long as you keep your six foot distance and wear your gloves and such. you can do some of that deferred maintenance you’ve been putting off for a while.
it is a great time but you gotta take your bag of patients with you when you go there because you have to wait in line to get into the store.
it’s true I went the other day and the line was pretty long outside the building but we got in pretty quick and it wasn’t as bad as it looked.
with that being said let’s give a big shout-out to the frontline workers. with them working over a time right now and dealing with people that are overly emotional their jobs can’t be easy in the first place but you add this on to it.
yeah our heart goes out to them and thank you to everybody that’s out there and keeping things going. anything we can do to help please let us know.
